Why Volunteer?

Have you ever gone to a consignment sale and felt like maybe you missed some of the best deals?
At our sale, if you volunteer you will be able to enter the sale before all other groups.  This gives you the first opportunity to find the best items at the lowest prices.   Not only that, volunteer so you can get a few hours out of the house and enjoy some fellowship time with other moms, grandmas and possibly some dads.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteer 12 hours (four - 3 hour shifts) = Shop Thursday April 11th from 3:00 - 8:00 PM
(All 12 hour volunteers MUST work  Thursday, April 11, 2013 4:30:00 PM - 7:30:00 PM as one of their four shifts)
Volunteer 9 hours (three- 3 hour shifts) = Shop Thursday April 11th from 4:00-8:00 PM
Volunteer 6 hours (two-3 hour shifts) = Shop Thursday April 11th from 5:00 - 8:00 PM
Volunteer one shift (3 hours) = Shop Thursday April 11th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM

ALL 6, 9 and 12 hour volunteers who are also consignors receive an extra 5% of their earnings totaling 70%. (NOTE:  Your shift does not need to be complete for you to shop early.  As long as you are scheduled to work during the sale week you are entitled to shop early at the volunteer shop.)

Prime example of the benefits to shopping early:  If there are 3 outdoor playhouses exactly the same, and one is priced at $200, another at $100 and a third at $25, you’ll have the first opportunity at buying the nicest and most inexpensive of the 3.

Alternate Volunteer Opportunities/Bartering
No time to volunteer during the sale?  There are a limited number of opportunitites to do volunteer work prior to the sale in advertising.  Please contact us at least 3-4 weeks prior to the sale with an area in which you are able to help us advertise by posting flyers, yard signs and distributing post cards.  You will be responsible for picking up advertising material in Cranberry Twp, returning road signs within 2 weeks following the sale, and providing a list of businesses who displayed our information.  This work should take approximately three hours and will count as one volunteer shift towards increased commission and the presale pass.

We will also consider bartering for services such as printing, advertising, photography and mealsWe are also open to other ideas you may have.  Perhaps you know a reporter or have a connection for radio advertising?  How about a preschool, club or sports group?  We will advertise for them if they will hand out our postcards to all of their students.  Contact us with your idea.... we would love to hear it!
What you need to know when you volunteer

Please note that if you do not provide 7 days notice of the need to cancel your shift, or you fail to arrive for your volunteer shift, a $10 fee will be deducted from your commission check and your commission will remain at 65%.  Thank you for understanding this policy.  We love our volunteers and rely upon them to make our sale successful!

All volunteers should wear comfortable clothing and bring a snack/water bottle as needed.
Please check-in at the desk ten minutes before your volunteer time so you can get your nametag and apron.  We will also explain what we need you to do during your shift.  Please let us know ahead of time of any special needs or physical limitations.
When your shift is done, please check out at the desk to return your nametag and apron and be marked as having completed your shift.
